2/14/23 --- Happy Valentines Day!
Happy V-day to all of you that celebrate it!
I feel like I spent most of the day at work, but thankfully it wasn't too crazy. Once I was out though, I got to spend some good quality time with the boys. We ordered out and had a nice meal, which was great. I'm the cook of the house, but I never turn down an opportunity to have a night off, especially after the recent work days I've been having. Either way, it was great to get to spend the evening with them :)
I lost a little bit of writing time due to the holiday, but I don't mind. I still managed to hit my 1500 word count plus some before midnight. I put all of it into Cowmelot today just because that project needs to get finished. I'm definitely getting really close now. Right now I'm doing a big reveal for the main character, telling him the truth about cows and beef. Spoilers: he's not a fan of that. However, it will give him the motivation he needs to take on the villain, so that's important. Hopefully, I can have this finished up by the end of the weekend, but that's starting to look a bit impossible honestly. We'll see though, maybe I'll have a big writing day out of nowhere or something.
Did a bit of work today on my author business as well. I'm working my way through some presentations from a big author conference that took place in November. I think I listened to three presentations today spanning topics about romance, marketing, and running a patreon. There were definitely more than a few tips that I immediately put into action as I was listening. I would really love to get Patreon going as much as possible. That platform offers me some stability to my author income that I can't really get anywhere else. If I can guarantee a large portion of my financial needs through Patreon, anything else I make on sales through Amazon will just be the frosting on the cake. That kind of thing could really make a difference if I have a book that flops or there's a sudden downturn in sales for some reason. It gives me the time and ability to diagnose and pivot if I need to, or just plain wait it out. At this point, any extra is great, so I'll keep building until I get that fanbase that I need to make this possible!
Alright, I think that's it for me tonight :)
